Mr. Namit Saxena, an alumnus of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, is an advocate enrolled to practice in India. Recognised as an Advocate-on-Record by the Supreme Court of India — securing All-India Rank 2 in the examination — he is the Standing Counsel for the State of Uttar Pradesh at the Supreme Court, Special Public Prosecutor for Enforcement Directorate, Delhi and Special Public Prosecutor, Income Tax. He has handled and argued a wide range of proceedings from the Supreme Court to trial courts and various tribunals.

After graduating in law in 2013, he was selected to work as a Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of India and was attached with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Kurian Joseph, before training in the chambers of the then Solicitor General of India, Mr. Ranjit Kumar, Senior Advocate. He commenced independent practice eventually.

He has authored Concise Commentary of Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Samhita, 2023 published by LexisNexis.

He has also revised and co-authored six legal classics, including the Code of Criminal Procedure (Ratanlal & Dhirajlal) and the Civil Procedure Code, Mulla (three volumes); assisted Justice Jasti Chelameswar and Justice D. S. Naidu in revising M. P. Jain’s Constitutional Law; and revised Pollock & Mulla’s commentary on the Specific Relief Act. He has also contributed opinions to leading newspapers and journals.
